Water Management at Scale

Deep Blue operates as a full-cycle water infrastructure provider dedicated to the Midland Basin. Our integrated network keeps water moving reliably from the wellsite through every stage, including gathering, transportation, treatment, recycling, storage, reuse, and permitted disposal, with efficient handling at every step.

Operators in one of the nation’s most active energy regions depend on our network to handle large, variable volumes without slowing their development plans. By combining extensive physical assets with real-time operational data, Deep Blue helps deliver water where and when it is needed.

Our Business

Foundational infrastructure, engineered for what’s next. Deep Blue handles produced water, freshwater, and municipal effluent through a single, data-driven network built for the Midland Basin, and we grow alongside our customers as their development expands. Our services include:

Water Gathering

We collect produced water directly from customer sites and move it into Deep Blue’s system. Our extensive, permanent network enables customers to manage high water volumes efficiently, reducing dependence on trucking and stand-alone facilities.

Transportation

Water moves through Deep Blue’s permanent pipeline network, connecting customer operations to treatment, storage, recycling, and disposal facilities. Our connected system offers greater flexibility than isolated facilities, allowing us to route water based on customer needs and real-time system conditions.

Water Storage

Water isn’t always available when and where it’s needed. Storage across our network bridges that gap, holding treated and recycled water so supply stays steady as schedules change and customers’ needs evolve.

Treatment and Recycling

We treat produced water to enable reuse, reducing the need for immediate disposal and supporting more sustainable operations. We tailor treatment to the specific chemistry and intended use of the water, using processes such as separation and filtration. Water quality is monitored throughout our system before treated water is returned for reuse.

Today, we recycle approximately half of the water that enters our system. This approach reduces freshwater demand and lowers the volume of water requiring underground disposal.

Water Reuse

Treated produced water is returned to the supply system for reuse in oil and gas operations.

We are developing treatment systems for broader industrial applications, including power generation and data center cooling. Expanding reuse creates new sources of industrial water and reduces demand on aquifers and municipal supplies.

Responsible Disposal

Not all produced water can be reused immediately. Water that cannot be recycled or directed to another use is managed through Deep Blue’s permitted saltwater disposal wells. Our teams apply operational expertise and use geologic, pressure, and system data to manage disposal safely and responsibly.

As treatment technologies and reuse markets grow, Deep Blue continues to reduce the volume of water requiring disposal.

1

Design

We begin with customer development plans, anticipated water volumes, and long-term needs. Using operational, water quality, and subsurface data, we design infrastructure and capacity to support both produced water takeaway and future water supply requirements.

2

Partner

We work closely with customers to develop water management solutions that align with operating schedules, infrastructure needs, and long-term development across the Midland Basin.

3

Manage

We manage the full water cycle as one system, so customers have a single, dedicated partner instead of a patchwork of providers.

4

Optimize

We use field measurements, water quality data, subsurface information, and customer forecasts to continually optimize water movement through our network. This approach helps align supply and takeaway capacity with customer needs, and our interconnected system allows us to respond quickly as water volumes, requirements, and conditions change.

A Data-First Approach to Water Management

Reliable water management requires knowing not just how much water is moving, but also its source, destination, and changing conditions.

Deep Blue uses thousands of meters to monitor water volumes and flow rates across our infrastructure. Hundreds more track water quality throughout pipelines, ponds, treatment facilities, and disposal sites.

This data enables our teams to forecast demand, identify available capacity, and determine the most efficient routes for water through the network, even as operating conditions change.

The result is a responsive, proven water system that matches the right water resource and infrastructure capacity to each customer’s needs, every day of the year.

Industries We Support

Midland Basin producers rely on Deep Blue for large-scale water management. Trusted by the basin’s leading operators, we grow alongside our partners, expanding the infrastructure backbone the region will rely on for decades. We are building on that foundation to meet new industrial demand for dependable, non-potable water.

Oil & Gas

For exploration and production (E&P) customers, we are a dedicated partner across the full water cycle, including produced water gathering, transportation, treatment, recycling, storage, redelivery, and permitted disposal across our integrated Midland Basin network.

Data Centers & Industrial Facilities

We provide treated produced water and supporting infrastructure for data centers and other industrial facilities that require large, steady volumes for construction, cooling and other non-potable uses. These solutions help customers meet operational water needs while reducing reliance on freshwater sources.

Power Generation

For generators with significant, ongoing water needs, we are developing treated produced water supply and infrastructure designed for dependable, long-term delivery. Our systems support reliable water delivery for operational uses and provide an alternative to freshwater and municipal supplies.

Emerging Industrial Uses

We also support a growing range of industrial applications for treated produced water. Solutions are tailored to water quality requirements, infrastructure needs, and customer demand, helping put produced water to productive use in new markets.

Built for the Midland Basin

Deep Blue is dedicated exclusively to the Midland Basin, the eastern portion of the Permian Basin surrounding Midland and Odessa. This focus gives our teams deep experience with the region’s geology, reservoirs, development patterns, and infrastructure needs. We continue to invest in and expand our interconnected water network across core operating areas to support customers as development grows.
